Képzés célja

The aim of the programme is to train professionals who, building on their essential knowledge of micro- and macroeconomics, international politics, European integration, international law, regional-, civilizational- and globalization affairs and business are able to carry out economic analysis of international nature as well as to work independently to prepare decision making and analysis in various fields and at different levels of the economic institutional system. Graduated students will have adequate knowledge to start doctorate studies.

Hungary is an open economy. 80% of its GDP is realized through export, international corporations play a major role in the economy and internationalization has a growing impact on the performance of small and medium sized domestic enterprises. Therefore, professionals with a master degree in International economics and business are constantly highly demanded.  Students of our master programme may acquire skills that enable them to pursue careers with international corporations and also qualifies them for business communication in several foreign languages. Furthermore our students are capable to take expert, analyst and management positions in homeland public administration and in international organizations.

Felvételi követelmények

Degrees taken will be accepted with full credit transfer: BA in International Business.

Undergraduate degrees will be accepted primarily with required credit points earned: BAs in; Business and Management, Human Resources, Commerce and Marketing, Finance and Accounting, Tourism, Business Trainer, Applied Economics, Economic Analysis, Public Service, and International Studies

Further, for input purposes, provided specific credit points are earned, undergraduate programmes awarding BA and MA degrees and college and university degrees awarded in compliance with Act LXXX of 1993 on the Hungarian Higher Education may be accredited as defined, based on comparison of knowledge elements serving to establish the credit point, by the Credit Transfer Committee of the higher education institution. Based on comparison of fundamental knowledge – as specified by the Law on Higher Education - the student should have at least 45 credits transferred from previous studied in the following areas: Economic Studies and Methodology (18 credits), Basics of Business (12 credits), Professional Expertise (15 credits).

Method of compensation for knowledge and skills missing from certain undergraduate programs:  It is an admission requirement for the master programme that the student should have at least 15 credits from the listed areas of study. Missing credit points should be earned simultaneously with the master programme – in accordance with BBS’s Academic and Examination Regulations – within the first two semesters after the admittance. To decide whether the student possess the quantity and quality of credit points required for admittance and competition of the programme (that is, whether the student has the knowledge required to start the programme) (preliminary) credit recognition process will be carried out. In case of the pre-accepted BA in International Business degree, there is no need for a credit recognition process (45 credit points should be transferred).

In the case of other degrees, a Credit Transfer request should be submitted. A copy of the transcript of records and the degree should be attached to the request. Undergraduate degrees accepted with specified (15-45) credit points: Applied Economics, Economic Analysis, Public Service, Business and Management, Commerce and Marketing, Human Resources, International Business, Finance and Accounting, Tourism, Business Trainer, International Studies.

Also, in case of other degrees, provided the specific credit points listed below are earned, undergraduate programmes awarding BA and MA degrees and college and university degrees awarded in compliance with Act LXXX of 1993 on the Hungarian Higher Education may be accredited as defined, based on comparison of knowledge elements serving to establish the credit point, by the Credit Transfer Committee of the higher education institution.

Based on comparison of fundamental knowledge – as specified by the Law on Higher Education – it is a requirement of admittance that the student should have at least 45 credits transferred from previous studied in the following areas:.

1. Economic Studies  and Methodology (18 credits): Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, International Economics, History of Economic Theories,Economic, Economic Policy   Mathematics,  Statistics, Informatics

2. Basics of Business Studies (12 credits): Finances, Corporate Finance, Business Economics, Marketing, Management, Accounting, Human Resource Management.

3. Professional Expertise (15 credits).

The possession of at least 45 credits from the list above is an admittance requirement for the master studies. Those, who are not able to transfer at least 15 credits, are not eligible to partake in the admittance procedure. However, those who are able to transfer a minimum of 15 credits, must earn missing credits simultaneously with the master programme – in accordance with BBS’s Academic and Examination Regulations – within the first two semesters after admittance.

 

 During the admittance procedure 100 points may be awarded, broken down as follows:

○ The grade point average of the undergraduate degree, based on the last four semesters, maximum 50 points

 

○ Entrance interview, based on motivation and professional knowledge, maximum 40 points. During the interview for the International Economics and Business master programme, the Selection Committee will evaluate the candidate’s motivation based on a short PowerPoint presentation prepared by the candidate. Furthermore the Committee will examine the candidate’s knowledge in general economics, basic knowledge of world economics and awareness of current events.

 

○ Extra Points (maximum 10 points):

  • Priority, maximum points: 10 points
    • Disability: 10 points
    • Maternity: 10 points
    • Disadvantage: 10 point
    • 2nd language proficiency exam / advanced (C1) complex: 6 points
    • 2nd language proficiency exam / intermediate (B2) complex: 3 points
    • 3rd language proficiency exam / advanced (C1) complex: 6 points
    • 3rd language proficiency exam / intermediate (B2) complex: 3 points
    • Institutional TDK (Scientific Students' Associations), place 1-3: 3 points
    • OTDK (Council of National Scientific Students' Associations), place 1-3: 5 points
    • Sports accomplishments: World and European Championship, place 1-3: 5 points
    • Specific professional experience: 5 points
    • Professional training activity: 10 point
    • Relevant degree in the National Qualification Register degree: 3 points

Önköltség és egyéb díjak

The programme is launched both in Hungarian State financed and Self-financed forms. The tuition fee for the academic year 2019/2020 for full-time programme is 340 000 HUF/semester, for part-time programme 290 000 HUF/semester. Students have to pay a tuition contribution fee of 120 000 HUF/semester.
