Introduction
Tamás Egedy is a geographer, Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, professor at the Budapest University of Economics, and senior research fellow at the Geographical Institute of the HUN-REN Research Center for Astronomy and Earth Sciences. He has played a decisive role in Hungary in the complex study of the physical, social, and economic environment of housing estates and in exploring the effects of urban rehabilitation in Hungarian cities on the social environment and quality of life. Over the past decade, he has achieved outstanding results in researching the development trends and urban geographical characteristics of the creative economy in Hungary. He is a member of the editorial board of leading Hungarian geography journals (Hungarian Geographical Bulletin, Földrajzi Közlemények, Településföldrajzi Tanulmányok, City.hu) and vice-president of the Hungarian Geographical Society.
